Vanessa K. Hinson
Dr. Hinson is Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Movement Disorders Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. She earned her medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Hamburg School of Medicine in Hamburg, Germany. After completing a research fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she trained in neurology in Muenster, Germany. She completed her residency at MUSC where she also served as chief resident. Following fellowship training in movement disorders at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, she joined the faculty at MUSC.
Dr. Hinson's special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of dystonia, Botulinum Toxin injections, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and other movement disorders.
Dr. Hinson has been a member of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation since 2013 and presently serves on the Editorial Board for The American Journal of the Medical Sciences.
