Mentoring is a fundamental determinant of success in the biomedical sciences and is
a major mission of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation (SSCI). This award
recognizes outstanding SSCI members or mentors who have demonstrated a long-standing
commitment to mentoring students, trainees or junior faculty or all of them. Through
their positive influence on the mentee's careers, these awardees have advanced medical
education and research for the benefit of the community at large.
